A skater from the Texas Flyers is attempting the unthinkable: Skating across the USA in inline skates, hoping to get into the Guiness Book of World Records. Believe it or not, it has been done once before by Rusty Moncrief in March of 2002. The current record stands at 69 days, 8 hours and 45 minutes. Dan hopes to break that record, planning on skating the distance (2,500+ miles) in something slightly over 30 days. That means he must average 100 miles a day!

Dan is already out on the road, you can read his blog for updates, which he posts to when he can find the time. You can read Dan’s initial announcement and some of his plans here. There is also a skatelog thread dedicated to his attempt.

Bont has gotten behind Dan’s efforts by providing him a pair of Vaypor skates.

Dan is attempting to skate a distance equal to 100 marathons! Here at Team Rainbo we can only say a huge “Good Luck” - we’re behind you all the way!
